Alexander Reyes
Born in Stockton California, Alexander Reyes completed his Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies at University of the Pacific where he studied saxophone under Patrick Langham. He earned his Master's Degree at University of Tennessee, studying saxophone with Gregory Tardy and piano with Donald Brown. Reyes was a graduate teaching assistant for the Jazz Studies department at the University of Tennessee instructing multiple jazz ensembles. He has done some teaching at the Brubeck Institute Jazz Camp at University of the Pacific.
Reyes performs locally in bands on saxophone and piano and has been apart of several jazz festivals including the Brubeck Festival, the Next Generation Jazz Festival, the Seattle Jazz Experience, and the University of Tennessee Jazz Festival. He has performed with Monty Alexander, Lewis Nash, Dick Oatts, and Terrell Stafford, among others.
