Elizabeth Keithcart is visiting assistant professor at Benerd College and visiting lecturer in the Department of Music Education. She became a music therapist through Pacific's Music Therapy program in 2007 and received her EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from University of the Pacific in 2008. Dr. Keithcart earned the BA in Humanities with a minor in music from CSU Chico in 1977, a California teaching credential in 1982, and her MA in Education with a focus on Integrating Mathematics and Science from Fresno Pacific University in 1986.
Dr. Keithcart served as the Benerd College assessment coordinator from 2008 until 2015. She teaches courses related to literacy, educational theory, and doctoral inquiry. At the Conservatory, Dr. Keithcart has supported music education student teachers through seminars and fieldwork supervision since 2009 and has been teaching the course on Music for Children to future elementary school teachers since 2018. She provides guest lectures in music therapy on using the harp in healing and learning.
