Guy Powell brings to the Conservatory several years of experience working with music students at Modesto Junior College and Columbia Community College. He is also a freelance musician skilled in recording and live sound engineering, as well as composition and music production. Since 1997, he has been a member or the guitar trio Tritarra performing eclectic programs at private events and music festivals.
Guy Powell is a co-director of the Guitarraganza Festival, a bi-yearly event in the Central Valley. The festival is a one-week event designed to give the students opportunities to meet and study with world renowned artists through workshops, masterclasses, and concerts.
Powell has been a soloist and/or ensemble performer for multiple music festivals including the CalArts Festival, Portland Guitar Festival, and Sonora Bach Festival. He also performed in masterclasses with Pepe Romero,Manuel Barrueco, Sergio Assad, David Starobin, Benjamin Verdery, David Tanenbaum, WilliamKanengiser, and Eliot Fisk among others.
