The Course Description

The first class of the sequence focuses on rudimentary concept of rhythm and notation which are explained in a fun and interactive way. The course will proceed gradually into more complex concepts of harmony, form and analysis.

The musicianship component of the course is focused on developing student's ability to hear and understand the relationships among the components of the music they play in order to develop a more meaningful connection to the piece. Methods such as Kodaly and Dalcroze are used for a more personal interaction with the music.
