The piano program offers rigorous study built on a solid foundation by internationally renowned faculty. Weekly performance classes combine the two major studios and allow for input from professors and peers. In your junior and senior year, you study with more than one instructor, increasing your exposure to different perspectives of music-making. This unique blend of study leads to a double mentorship experience for all of our piano program graduates.

  • Two hours a week of private instruction for juniors and seniors
  • Private instruction in accompanying and coaching of chamber ensembles
  • Two semesters of keyboard literature provide a broad perspective on the literature for piano
  • A course in pedagogy trains piano performance majors for piano teaching

The Performance opportunities include:

  • Weekly performance classes
  • Solo and ensemble performance through the Conservatory-wide performance class ‚ÄúSolo Class‚Äù
  • Junior and senior solo recitals
  • Master classes with the Stockton Symphony's guest artists
  • A concerto competition for seniors to perform with the University Symphony at the Commencement Ceremony
