Multi-Instrumentalist, composer, performer and educator Chanell Crichlow joins Pacific’s Conservatory as Assistant Professor of Practice in Tuba and Euphonium

Pacific’s Conservatory announces the appointment of Chanell Crichlow as Assistant Professor of Practice in Tuba/Euphonium, Composition and Music Industries.

“We are ecstatic about Chanell Crichlow’s appointment to the faculty at Pacific’s Conservatory of Music,” said Conservatory Dean Peter Witte, “Chanell’s range is mind-blowingly broad. First, she is a gifted classical tuba and euphonium player, and is part of a lineage of low brass playing and pedagogy that started in her middle school band program in New York City, and extend through the famed LaGuardia High School, to Arnold Jacobs, Velvet Brown, and Toby Hanks and most recently in conversation with Philadelphia Orchestra’s Carol Jantsch, who recently hosted Chanell as a “rising star” on Ms. Janstch’s vlog.

Chanell is also a multi-instrumentalist, a composer, an arranger, a singer/songwriter, and a producer and publisher of her own works.

From the Today Show to the Stephen Colbert Show to her own club dates, from Bach, to Miley Cyrus covers, to Chanell’s own compositions, Professor Crichlow is on it.”

In coming to Pacific Chanell joins a Conservatory that believes excellence has many meanings, and she becomes a member of a community that measures itself not by whom we exclude, but by whom we include.
